The police incident at York College tonight (Wednesday) will see it closed for teaching again tomorrow.
Students have been told via email that everyone is safe but the situation is ongoing.
An email sent by Ingrid Kellock, director of student experience at York College, says: “You may be aware that we are dealing with an ongoing incident on college campus.
“We’d like to confirm that all staff and students are safe and we are cooperating with the police.
“There will be no teaching tomorrow (daytime or evening) but College will be open to allow people to collect personal belongings. We will confirm timings, when we have further information from the police.
“We are aware that some exams are due to take place for a small number of students tomorrow, so we will contact those students individually to make appropriate arrangements.
“We will issue another communication with any further information when known.”
