A York cinema evacuated after a fire is back open today (Sunday).
Cinemagoers were told to leave Vue York at Clifton Moor after the alarm was raised at 1.47pm on Saturday (4 January).
Fire crews from Huntington and Acomb responded to the call at the Stirling Road multiplex.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews found the cause was believed to be smoking materials discarded into the cladding.”

Firefighters used a hose reel jet and extension ladder to put out the fire.
The cinema remained closed for the rest of the day and night.
But a spokeswoman for Vue told YorkMix on Sunday morning: “The cinema has fully reopened and all the films are available.”
