A popular York choir will perform a free concert at Impossible York this month.
When the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir performed at the launch of this year’s York Proms Impossible’s manager Jack Vanston was so impressed that he contacted them afterwards and suggested a performance in his restaurant.
So on Friday 23 May, while guests are enjoying a meal at Impossible, they will be serenaded with songs in a wide range of musical styles.
It’s a big year for the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir, as they are celebrating their 100th year anniversary – as the group first came together to sing songs in 1925.
It is some time since the choir performed in a restaurant and this performance is expected to be enjoyed by those dining at Impossible in St Helen’s Square every bit as much as it will be by the singers.
Jack Vanston said: “We’re delighted to welcome The York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir to Impossible for their debut performance!
“For us, this was about introducing a new kind of offering to Impossible which fits the venue perfectly. This collaboration offers an amazing opportunity to bring the venue to life with the choir’s incredible vocal talents.”
The concert is free but there are only a limited number of tickets, so if you’d like one – or more – make sure to book in advance.
