York’s sweetest festival is coming back!
This Easter sees the return of York Chocolate Festival — which celebrates York’s chocolate history and showcases all things chocolatey and sweet from local independent businesses.
Created by the same team behind the York Food Festival, the York Chocolate Festival returns to Parliament Street from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 April 2023.
Last year’s festival saw chocolatier Ashley McCarthy from Channel 4’s Extreme Chocolate Makers showcasing his incredible sculpture of York Minster — that was made entirely of chocolate!
The major activities for this year’s festival include:
- Festival Market — A selection of chocolatiers, confectioners, and everything in between! Treat yourself or loved ones to a sweet treat and see what some of the local independent traders have to offer. There will even be some traditionally savoury products with a sweet twist…
- Activity Area — Get hands on with chocolate lollipop making, tastings, cookery workshops and more with the packed activities programme
- Taste Trail — Take a walking trail around the city and try samples from some of the best of York’s food scene by visiting a range of deli’s, restaurants and suppliers.
- Chocolate Bar — A chance to sit and relax while enjoying a drink at the festival chocolate bar! There will be cocoa gin and chocolate stout on offer as well as alcohol free alternatives, draught beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
York Chocolate Festival is open on Parliament Street from 10am to 5pm daily. There is free entry to the festival and market, with some ticketed activities.
