A North Yorkshire restaurant has received two Michelin awards – including one for head chef Jake Jones.
Middleton Lodge in Richmond is an award winning hotel, restaurant and wedding venue.
Jake Jones, the head chef at Forge at Middleton Lodge, this week received the Michelin Young Chef Award.
Jake, who’s from York, has been described as a “chef to watch” by the Michelin inspectors, and they went on to say “he has shown great skill in leading a team who craft interesting, original dishes with a sustainable ethos.”
Forge at Middleton Lodge has also been awarded with a Michelin Green Star – an award which highlights restaurants leading the way when it comes to sustainability.
“The restaurant being awarded a Green Star this year is a testament to Jake’s dedication towards Forge’s ethos,” the guide states.
Middleton Lodge shared on Facebook that they are ‘so proud of Jake, and of the whole team’s hard work’.
Forge at Middleton Lodge aims to give you a ‘taste of the Yorkshire landscape’ and offers a six course or ten course tasting experience, with vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, and gluten free menu options. The six course tasting menu is £55 and the ten course option is £95.
The selections for the 2024 Michelin awards were revealed earlier this week, and another York chef was among them, winning his first Michelin star.
