Most things are improved by making them pink – and pancakes are no exception.
It’s no secret that the new Barbie film, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has taken the world by a pink-fuelled storm.
Now the popular family-run Nice To See You cafe on Goodramgate have joined in the pink trend, and created Barbie-inspired pancakes.
The pancakes are their regular buttermilk pancakes – but in pink! They are topped with strawberry sauce, strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries and marshmallows.
Owner Patrycja Skora said it was a “spontaneous” decision to create the special pancakes.
“We noticed how fast the Barbie trend is growing and we decided one weekend that we should do something too,” said Patrycja.
The pink pancakes have already received a lot of good feedback.
“The pancakes are really tasty – strawberry lovers will appreciate the taste.”
As well as tasting delicious, they’re also very aesthetically pleasing. “Some people ordered the pancakes just for taking photos!”
The Barbie pancakes cost £9.50 and are part of the specials board at Nice To See You. Currently the pancakes will be available until October half term, but “unless they will be very popular then we will keep it a bit longer.”
It could be a while as the Barbie craze is showing no signs of slowing down. “Pink is on top now!”
