A York bus stop was set on fire last night (Thursday).
Firefighters from York fire station were called to Appleton Road, Bishopthorpe at 5.08pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to reports of a deliberate fire fire in a bus stop.
“Crews extinguish the fire, which measured 1m by 1m, using a bucket of water.”
The same crew went shortly afterwards, at 5.47pm, to a fire started in a barley field next to Appleton Road in Bishopthorpe. They damped down a small fire which was out on arrival, using knapsack sprayers.
Then, at 6.30pm, firefighters were called to Moor End, Acaster Malbis.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to reports of a deliberate fire to a hay bale.
“Crews extinguished this using pitch forks and buckets of water.”
