It garnered five star reviews with customers lining up to praise its cupcakes.
But a York bakery is now shut, less than a year after it opened.
The Sweet Dreams Bakery launched on George Hudson Street last June.
It served a host of tasty treats – including brownies and ice cream, as well as freshly-made sandwiches and those adored cupcakes.
Sweet Dreams was the brainchild of Mara Cioineag. The building was previously the Romanian convenience store La Māruca, also run by Mara.
The bakery began in 2020 from the Leeds home of Mara and her husband.
After having a child and moving to York, they launched the shop with 12 flavours of cupcakes every day.
And people loved them. One positive review of many on Just Eat said: “Absolutely sensational cupcakes! Will definitely be coming back for more.”

The business also catered for organisations and businesses, including City of York Council.
Last November the couple scaled back their hours, closing on Sundays and Mondays. In a post on social media, they said: “We’ve realised we might’ve taken on a bit more than we could handle!
“Being open 7 days a week with just the two of us (and juggling a lively 2-year-old) has proven to be a little overwhelming.”
Sweet Dreams is now emptied out and the Grade II listed premises is being marketed by Garness Jones for £15K a year in rent.
