York Sport and Tadcaster Swim Squad are teaming up to develop competitive swimmers in North Yorkshire.
The partnership agreement will implement a full swimming development and performance pathway for swimmers in York, Tadcaster and the surrounding areas.
This enables the swimming club to increase their training time, splitting between Tadcaster Swimming Pool and York Sport Village.

As part of the groundbreaking scheme, the club has been renamed Tadcaster York Sport Swim Squad.
With pool space limited in the area, this partnership enables York Sport to direct their most talented swimmers to the club, maximising its chances of competitive success in regional and national galas.
Eleanor Carswell of the swim squad said: “We hope the partnership will enable us to build on the opportunities for all our members with increased pool time, more structured coaching with swimmers of their own ability and more gym and land training sessions leading to an improved year round programme and hopefully in the future running our own galas.”
The partnership is already showing strong signs of success with the club’s highest ever number of swimmers qualifying for county, regional and national competitions, as well as PBs across all swimmers in all age groups.
The club also has four swimmers on the Swim England National Talent Pathway.
Business manager at York Sport Richard Orr said: “We are delighted to announce this agreement with Tadcaster York Sport Swim Squad.
“We are very proud of our junior swim scheme and we have produced some excellent swimmers over the years, and now they have the opportunity to move into a competitive swimming club that we are also proud to have our name on.”
