This weekend saw our first Grassroots fixture with York Sport and wow, what a match!
York Acorn Rugby League U9’s vs. Dewsbury Moor Rugby Club U9’s 
Sunday was a perfect morning for a game of Rugby League, the sun was shining the pitches looked amazing, and the York Acorn and Dewsbury Moor Under 9s were more than up for it!
Don’t let the fact that these kids are 8 years old fool you, they flew into tackles, ran the ball brilliantly, created superbly executed plays and encouraged their team mates throughout not one, but two matches.
All the while, every one of them played with passion for the club and respect for not only their Coaches (Rob and Craig) but their opposition, which is largely down to the way the game of Rugby League is played. Respect is EVERYTHING.
My hat is taken off to all involved, what a set up at York Acorn, what a match and what lovely people. The hospitality was on another level.
I’ll definitely be heading down to Acorn again soon, if not for the Rugby, for the post match chicken curry! All the best for the rest of the season!
