A woman was taken to hospital following what police are describing as an altercation in a York park.
It happened at about 1.30pm on Saturday (7 March).
The altercation between a man and a woman resulted in the woman being taken to hospital by ambulance. She suffered minor injuries.
Prior to this, it is believed that members of the public helped the woman at both West Bank Park and Windsor Garth in the city.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and he has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the altercation or who may have assisted the woman to come forward.
Anyone with information, including CCTV, which could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police.
