A rescue operation was launched early this morning after a women fell into the river.
Fire and ambulance crews were called to the incident on Norton Road, Norton, at 2.40am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The Malton crew committed a firefighter wearing a dry suit and used lines and crew power to rescue a female who had stumbled down an embankment and then up to her chest in the river.
