A woman has been sexually assaulted on a York cycle path.
The incident was reported to police at 2.50am on Monday (September 5). It happened on the cycle path on the junction between Crichton Avenue and Wigginton Road.
An investigation to trace the unknown male suspect and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
Forensic searches of the cycle path completed shortly after 4.30pm on Monday.
The victim, a woman in her late twenties, is being supported by specially trained officers.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has any information, is asked to contact the police.
