A woman was rescued from a ledge on a York bridge last night.
Emergency services were called out to Clifton Bridge, Water End, at 11.06pm last night (Tuesday).
Firefighters from Acomb went to the scene.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a female stood on a narrow ledge on the wrong side of bridge railings.
“Crews stood by and liaised with police whilst police negotiators spoke to the female.
“The female was brought to the right side of the railings and taken into the care of the police with no action required by the fire service.”
