Woman in her 20s victim of ‘serious sexual assault’ in York
The victim, a woman in her 20s, is currently being supported by specially trained officers following the incident which occurred in the city centre in the early hours of Thursday (November 27).
Officers are currently making enquiries in the area and placed cordons behind the Parish pub on Micklegate and near Yates’ on Low Ousegate.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Kell, of York CID, said: “The investigation is at a very early stage and I urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the city centre in the early hours of Thursday morning to come forward with information.”
