A man grabbed a woman by the neck and tried to kiss her in an assault near a York pub.
The attack happened close to the Winning Post on Bishopthorpe Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, July 11.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said:

The victim was talking to a man who is believed to then have grabbed her by the neck and attempted to kiss her.
The victim was left extremely shaken following the incident.
Police have issued this description of the attacker.
