A woman has been found dead at a home in York.
Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of her body in a house on Sixth Avenue, Tang Hall, yesterday morning (Sunday).
As YorkMix reported yesterday, neighbours were alerted to the incident by a large police presence in the area.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said today: “We were called by the ambulance service to an address in the Tang Hall area of York at around 9.45am yesterday.
“Sadly, a woman in her 40s was found dead at the address.
“We have launched an investigation into her death, which is in its very early stages.”



A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the investigation. He is in custody as enquiries continue.
The spokesperson added: “Residents will see a police presence in the area, with officers speaking to the community and conducting enquiries throughout the day.”
