Woman cut free after two-car crash in York

Firefighters rescued a woman trapped in her car after a crash in York today (Monday).

It happened on Byland Avenue at about 1.10pm.

Two cars collided, leaving one woman trapped. Fire crews from York and Huntington went to the scene.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to release the woman, and she was given over to the care of paramedics.

The road was partly blocked while the rescue operation was taking place. It has now reopened.
