It’s a glorious summer’s day, Paloma Faith is lined up to sing her heart out, and before that there are seven top races.
What’s not to like?

Richard Fahey saddles horses in six of today’s seven contests, writes tipster Turpin.
Hardly surprising as Knavesmire has proved a happy hunting ground for the Malton maestro lately. It would be no surprise to see him walk away with a hat-trick of wins today.
Turpin’s pick of the Fahey runners goes in the second race (2.10), a seven-furlong fillies handicap. Just 15 days ago, his four-year-old Starlight Romance took a 16-runner handicap here on good to firm, the same conditions that prevail today.
Penalised with a 5lb rise for that success, canny Richard has replaced Paul Hanagan with talented 5lb claimer Connor Murtagh. That looks enough to bring home the spoils and he will carry the weighty burden of Turpin’s biggest punt of the day.
The big-money race, the extended 1m2f Sunbets.co.uk Handicap (3.20), has attracted just six entries, but a case can be made for all of them. So it’ll be small stakes for Turpin on this, with preference, only just, for Lingfield winner Wissahickon.
That wasn’t a notably strong field but the John Gosden colt hacked up with eight lengths to spare; a good limbering up performance for a handicap debut on his seasonal return. Mark Johnston’s Communique deserves respect too and earns the each-way vote.
Turpin has heard excellent reports about Mojika, likely to be favourite in the seven-furlong fillies novice contest at 3.55. She’s only been on a racecouse twice, and her runner-up performance at Newbury two weeks ago shows that she really is getting the hang of it.
The galloping flat of York will suit Roger Varian’s three-year-old perfectly and is your highwayman’s other banker of the day.
Fifteen of the nation’s top National Hunt riders line up for the ’Jump Jockeys Nunthorpe Handicap sprint over the minimum distance (4.30). Don’t think for a moment that this is a novelty race; it promises to be one of the most highly contested events of the year.
Bashiba, a recent Nottingham winner, is improving with every run, and should give the Nigel and Andrew Tinkler team a great chance; but they won’t have it their own way. Harome (with Henry Brooke up), Fumbo Jumbo (Sean Bowen) and Midnight Malibu (Joe Colliver) have good claims too.
Value-seekers might also consider last year’s winner, Tylery Wonder, gives jockey Tom Scudamore a great chance on the bottom weight – and at a nice price too.
