Two of London’s hottest stylists helped to inspire the next generation of hairdressers in York.
Celebrity hairdressing duo the Hair Bros judged the York College Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up Competition, and then gave a special demonstration of their own creative techniques.
A total of 200 full-time students and apprentices produced hair and beauty designs to strict competition rules in the following categories:
- Evening Style
- Hair-Up
- 1920s-1940s
- Nail Art
- Level 3 Beauty
- Special Occasion Make-Up
- Fantasy Make-Up
- and Barbering.

They were delighted to be invited to judge the competition. Later, in their own demonstration, the two acclaimed hairdressers imparted some valuable tips and advice to an enthusiastic audience of staff, students and guests.
Head of hair, beauty and holistic therapies at York College Karen Goodman said:

I would also like to thank our special guests, the Hair Bros – they were interested to see the kind of work our students produce whilst training in preparation for industry.
The Hair Bros also gave us an amazing demonstration and shared their own styling techniques, and a detailed presentation, proving they are pushing the boundaries of hair design today.
