Listen: ‘We just want her home’ – Cousin makes radio appeal for public help to find Chelsea
Police are urging Ryedale residents to remain vigilant and check outbuildings for missing Chelsea Allen, as they remain ‘very concerned’ by her disappearance.
It comes as her cousin has made a heartfelt plea on social media and YorkMix Radio for help to get her home.
Chelsea, 31, from Helmsley, was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning (26 June).
It’s believed that Chelsea left home on foot. Officers have used a police drone to allow them to view aerial footage of vast open areas.
The police helicopter and mountain rescue team have also been deployed in the search for Chelsea.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are currently extremely concerned for the welfare of Chelsea. I would urge members of the public in the Ryedale area to remain vigilant and check any sheltered outbuildings.
“If anyone has any information which can assist the investigation, they should call police immediately on 101. Any immediate sightings should be reported to 999.”
Ryedale police tweeted: “Members of the public in the Ryedale area are asked to remain vigilant and check any sheltered outbuildings.”
Chelsea’s cousin, Charlie Quill: “Please please please check your sheds, or anywhere around your area.
“Chelsea is still missing and it’s hard to believe no one has seen her.
“We just want her home – even if your area isn’t listed please check as she could have gone anywhere or taken anywhere.
“She’s 31, she’s wearing grey joggers and a navy blue long sleeve top with white on the sleeves and trainers, dark hair and dark eyes. Chelsea also has many tattoos!
“She can’t be far. She has no phone or money so may ask people for lifts if she feels lost.”
Anyone who has any information which could help officers with their enquiries should contact police on 101. If you have an immediate sighting of Chelsea, please call 999.
