From Old York to New York – a musician from our city has made it big in the Big Apple.
Country-pop singer Twinnie-Lee Moore, aka Twinnie, has appeared on a billboard in Times Square.
It’s to promote the music video for her new single ‘Lonely Long’, which had its broadcast premiere on CMT, CMT Music and Paramount Times Square Billboards in New York on Tuesday 30 January.
Twinnie, who’s originally from York, moved to Nashville in 2023 to pursue her music career.
Speaking about having ‘Lonely Long’ premiered on Times Square Billboards, Twinnie said: “Lonely Long is a break-up anthem, it’s a powerful reminder that you are enough and if someone doesn’t choose you, you need to choose yourself.
“It’s not my usual sad girl break-up song, I wrote this for the brokenhearted to encourage them that there are good times ahead on the other side of heartbreak.”
Twinnie described it as a ‘career highlight’ and a moment she will ‘cherish forever’.
The music video for uptempo female empowerment anthem ‘Lonely Long’ was filmed in Nashville, and also stars Twinnie’s adorable dog, Sunny.
Twinnie, 36, has had a varied career in showbusiness. She started in musical theatre, and then later starred on TV in Hollyoaks as Porsche McQueen. She released her first EP in 2016, and has released two EPs since. Twinnie embarked on a 2024 tour across the US and Europe at the end of January.
