York Pride took to the streets again today – and was bigger and brighter than ever.
A hugely colourful parade turned the city into a giant rainbow as people from across the city and beyond united in a loud and proud celebration.
One of the biggest LGBT+ events in the north, it had been absent for two years due to the pandemic.
But it returned with a bang – and lots of whistles! An incredible variety of outfits and causes were on show as York Pride brought the city together to celebrate diversity, tolerance, kindness and the power of love.
After setting off outside York Minster, the parade wended its way through the streets to Knavesmire for the live event.
Performers included Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle, Drag Race‘s Davina De Campo and Duncan James from Blue. And YorkMix Radio were there too!
Then, for those with true staying power, the after party was moving to Ziggy’s Bar and Nightclub on Micklegate.
