York City today unveiled their new look.
The first team home shirt for the 2024-25 campaign includes pin stripes and a Yorkshire white rose on the sleeve, with the slogan ‘This is Yorkshire’ on the back.
It was modelled by midfielder Alex Hunt, who signed permanently for the Minstermen today after a loan spell with the club. Alex joins from Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee.
The kit is is part of a three-year partnership which will see Hummel provide all on-field playing kit and training gear for every YCFC team.
A City spokesperson said: “Hummel, who celebrated their centenary last year, are a brand aligned with the club ethos of quality and community, and we welcome them to the city.
“Our new home shirt features a distinctive pinstripe design, boasting the iconic Hummel chevrons along the shoulder.
“This is Yorkshire – proudly worn on the back, with our very own White Rose of York on the front. Topped with a proper, embroidered badge.
“Hummel’s ECO8 implementation means each shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles.”
The look largely won approval from the City faithful, with one saying: “That’s got promotion challenge written all over it.”
A couple of people pointed out that the Yorkshire rose was upside down. Club co-chair Matt Uggla responded on X: “Think this is just the sample kit! Rose will definitely be the right way round!”
The shirt costs £52.99 for adults, available in sizes small to XXXX large. For juniors it costs £47.99.
