Thousands of delirious York City fans cheered their team on to glory today.
City beat Boston United 2-0 to clinch promotion to the National League.
A heroic performance in front of a record crowd at the LNER Community Stadium of 7,448 saw them win the National League North play off final.
Goals by Lenell John-Lewis in the first half and Maziar Kouhyar in the second spelled an end to five long seasons in National League North.
There was a party atmosphere before the game, as supporters sang ‘City are massive everywhere we go’.
After the second goal went in, the stadium resounding to the song ‘We are going up, I said we are going up.’
The final whistle saw fans run on the pitch to celebrate with the players.
After they returned to the terraces, the players were given their winners medals by club chairman Jason McGill before they hoisted the cup into the air for the biggest cheer of all!
A lap of honour followed as the party really began.
