Get ready for lots of fe-fi-fo fun at York Theatre Royal this Christmas.
The cast of the theatre’s 2023 pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk have come together and promised it will be a blast for all the family.
The festive treat features Eastenders and Goodness Gracious Me star Nina Wadia as Fairy Sugarsnaps, pantomime favourite Robin Simpson as the Dame, and James Mackenzie, best known for playing the titular Raven in the hit CBBC challenge show, as the villain.
Jack and the Beanstalk is at York Theatre Royal from Friday 8 December 2023 to Sunday 7 January 2024.
The cast also includes Mia Overfield as Jack, Matthew Curnier as Billy, and Anna Soden as Dave the Cow.

The team of writer Paul Hendy, director Juliet Forster and choreographer Hayley Del Harrison are reuniting for Jack and the Beanstalk – following the success of previous pantomimes Cinderella and All New Adventures of Peter Pan.
“This is actually my first time in York,” said James Mackenzie. “I can’t wait to make it my second home for the festive season.
“It’ll be exciting to find out what’s in store for us and just getting the show up and running, and finding our groove and becoming a happy panto family. I’m really looking forward to it.”
“I’m very excited to be here,” said Nina Wadia. “This theatre is unbelievable.
“I’ve just met the rest of the cast so I know I’m going to have fun – we’re going to laugh every single day.
“Christmas isn’t Christmas without panto and when you’ve got a setting like this it just turns into an absolutely magical evening of just a lot of fun and laughter – so come down for that!”
