For those who had yearned for a Big Mac and fries, today was a good day.
The York McDonald’s restaurants reopened today (Thursday) – and plenty of people turned out to pick up food from under the golden arches at lunchtime.
Drive-through service only has began again at the Monks Cross, Poppleton and Clifton Moor restaurants.
In the city centre, the Blake Street McDonald’s has reopened for delivery only, via Uber Eats.
All the restaurants were offering a limited menu.
For drive-through customers it was one order per car, and customers were asked to use contactless payments whenever possible.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s York said: “With new social distancing and safety procedures, we have fewer people in our kitchens and service areas so things will take a bit longer than usual.
“Thank you for your patience as we adjust to our new procedures.”
