This is the moment a drink and drug driver ploughs his BMW into a parked car in York.
Timothy Jason Starkie was driving in the early hours of Sunday 5 January when he crashed into a Hyundai car parked on Tang Hall Lane.
Starkie pleaded guilty to drink driving, and two charges of drug driving and was sentenced to York Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday). It is his third similar convicition.

The collision happened at 12.49am. The 33-year-old was found to be over the legal drink drive limit when breathalysed at the scene of the collision by officers, and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
He was then taken to hospital for medical checks. Blood tests taken in hospital revealed that Starkie, of Tang Hall Lane, was also well over the prescribed limit for both cannabis and cocaine.
When interviewed by police he responded “no comment” to all questions posed.
Starkie has been banned from the roads for 40 months. He was also handed a year-long community order, ordered to complete 150 days of unpaid work, 20 days of rehabilitation, and he must pay £114 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
Traffic Constable Joseph Schramm, of North Yorkshire Police’s roads policing group, said: “The defendant clearly has no regard for other road users.
“Despite previous convictions for driving whilst under the influence of drink and drugs, he yet again chose to drive after consuming alcohol, cannabis and cocaine, putting himself, as well as other motorists and pedestrians, at risk.
“It is a miracle nobody was seriously injured, or worse, as a result of his irresponsible actions.”
