Tadcaster Firefighter Ewan Hewitt has done it!
He set himself a challenge to do 20 squats a day and video them in various locations in order to raise cash for York Mind. the mental health charity.
This week he says he has managed to bring in over two thousand pounds and the money keeps coming in.

We asked Ewan how it felt now he had completed the daily challenge.
“I’m not going to say it’s a relief. I would say that it’s more like, Oh, it’s a bit empty now because I looked forward to doing it every day. I really enjoyed it and it’s been quite humbling seeing the reaction to it.
“There is such a stigma around the subject of mental health and the problems around it still.
“And if I can raise awareness, let alone money, then that’s something in itself, raising money is just an added bonus”

He says he is planning some more fundraisers but will have a rest first before he announces what he wants to do next.
Group Manager for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Bob Hoskins said:
“Great effort for a great cause. Been watching your progress all year and hope you can increase your fundraising total in the coming days as people acknowledge the effort and dedication this has taken
“Well done and have a great 2022”
