The moment when a York shop caught fire has been captured on video.
It was at the Cornish Bakery on King’s Square on Wednesday night.
Fire crews from York and Acomb went to the incident at 10.39pm. They found the shop heavily smoke logged.

On gaining access, firefighters discovered a fire in an oven. They put this out with two hose reel jets.
Smoke had also entered the flats above the Cornish Bakery. The video above, taken by York resident Lester the Lion, shows the firefighters in action.

The shop is now shut. A sign on the window says: “Due to a fire we are closed. We will reopen shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience.”
YorkMix contacted the Cornish Bakery company this morning to ask about the incident. They have yet to come back to us.
