A Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Harry Gration, the legendary BBC Look North presenter has taken place at York Minster.
The cortège travelled down Leeman Road, over Lendal bridge, and came to a rest in Duncombe Place by York Minster.
The crowd of people who gathered at York Minster gave Harry a long round of applause
Born in Bradford, Harry had lived in York for many years and he was known to millions both for his work on TV and his support of numerous charities.
The service was led by the Revd Canon Richard Carew, Vicar of the Church of St Edward the Confessor in Dringhouses and the preacher was the former Archbishop of York, Lord Sentamu.
Retired English Cricket umpire Dickie Bird and Former England cricket player Geoffrey Boycott were there, as was Harry’s last co-presenter on the Look North sofa, current solo host, Amy Garcia.
