Ant and Dec get around – the Australian jungle one minute, live from London the next…
And this week they even made it to York. Or at least their show did.
One of the city’s nightclubs played a starring role in Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Where’s Wally trick
The team had played a trick on one unknowing member of the audience. Chelsea Eddowes, originally from South Shields, is now studying Human Geography at York St John University.
“You started university back in September, didn’t you?” Ant asked Chelsea in the show broadcast live on Saturday night (April 1).
“Now it’s scary being away from home for the first time isn’t it?”
So, Ant told her, they made sure someone was there to keep an eye on her as she began her new life in York…
Back in September Chelsea took part in one of the YSJ Fresher Week activities – a Where’s Wally? themed night at Kuda Nightclub on Clifford Street.
Chelsea threw herself into to the evening, dressing up in Wally’s familiar striped shirt and round glasses.
And thanks to Ant and Dec – but completely unknown to her – two of the other Wally-alikes were… her mum and dad!
At the end, Ant said: “Good work mam and dad! And the good news is – they hung around all night!”
Much to Chelsea’s relief he revealed that was a joke.
