Video: York City players spread Christmas cheer on the children’s ward

He’s big and he’s got a beard, so Jon Parkin made the ideal subsitute for Santa.
York City’s top scoring striker was one of the players who joined team manager Martin Gray on a visit to York Hospital children’s ward.
They handed out gifts and chatted to the children, their parents and the staff during their trip on Thursday (December 14).

Jon said: “It’s gone really well. Hopefully the kids have enjoyed seeing us.
“It is just something that we can give back. If we can put a little smile on their faces when they are having a bit of a tough time, that’s really good.”
The annual visit was organised by the club’s foundation with support from Benenden, Just Sport, and Sarah Stelling.
