There are reports of over a foot of snow on roads in parts of the Dales as weather warnings for Yorkshire remain in force.

There are a large number of power cuts in the DL8 post code area including Hawes.

Bez Bereford, who tweets about life in the Dales on Twitter says “Most of the area is cut off from the electricty and conditions on the roads are very bad. Power cables have come down in various locations including the B6255 outside Hawes.”

Northern Powergrid says it will take until at least 6pm to fix. Check in on their website for updates.
