This is York’s new café and deli – filled with delicious treats.
Paradiso Dolce Salato has opened on Walmgate, close to its sister business, the hugely popular Italian restaurant Il Paradiso del Cibo.
It has been created by Paolo Silesu, the chef who began his York food journey as chef at legendary restaurant Silvano’s before opening his own place serving authentic Sardinian food.

The new café, created inside what was the Bert & May tile shop, will serve sandwiches, coffee, pizza slices, cakes and more.
It will also dish out authentic Italian gelato. And the deli sells a range of meats, cheeses, pasta, oils and other Italian cooking staples.
The cafe describes itself as: “When passion and love for baking comes true.”
