Between the 13th and the 20th October Arqiva, the people who run the TV transmitters, took 5,300 calls on the dedicated freephone number from people still unable to get a signal after the fire at Bilsdale in North Yorkshire
They’ve responded to more than 2,000 webchats too and say they are continuing to do their best to help those who still can’t get their favourite shows.
The fire led to the felling of the 1969 mast, a famous landmark on the moors, and the temporary replacement is not as powerful or as tall.

This is what Arqiva says it is doing to help:
- The majority of calls are requesting support on retuning, plus information on making appointments for engineers to visit, as well as the voucher scheme we have set up.
- We’ve set up a dedicated website with updates and information:
- Official letters containing information about how to claim the £50 Currys vouchers are landing on doormats: more than 15,000 have been sent out.
- As of this week more than 1,000 households had already claimed their voucher to buy a TV streaming device.
- Help targetted at the vulnerable
