This was the scene on the road outside York Hospital on Thursday night.
Wigginton Road was under several inches of water.
Work is underway to fix the road but that means there are temporary traffic lights on the road on Friday.

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust shared this message on social media on Friday morning: “Burst water main outside York Hospital.
“If you’re coming to York Hospital today, please still attend but allow extra time for your journey as routes will be affected for the rest of the day.
“Thank you for your patience.”
On Thursday night, it was passable by car – but only with care.
There was also water on the road leading to York Hospital car park.
The water was lapping over the road and onto the pavements. One onlooker said: “Come down to Wigginton Road and have a bath!”
There has been a water mains burst. Yorkshire Water engineers are on the scene and working to fix the problem.
They were directing traffic near the mini-roundabout that leads to the hospital.
It is the latest of a series of water mains failures on Wigginton Road. There was a particularly bad spate in 2022, when Yorkshire Water said they would be “closely at our network in the area”.
