York Racecourse has a long association with royalty – which continued today (Friday).
The Queen made a surprise visit to Knavesmire for day three of the Ebor Festival 2024.
Wearing a royal blue brocade-edged button through coat, Queen Camilla was met by the chief executive of York Racecourse William Derby.
She was there to watch Crown Estate, the horse she co-owns with the King and which was trained by the late Queen Elizabeth II, in the Sky Bet Mile Handicap.
Sadly the horse wasn’t placed, but the Queen still seemed to have a enjoyable day out.
