Two cars crashed and one burst into flames on the A64.
It happened at about 8.19pm last night (Saturday) on the eastbound carriageway close to the turn-off to Castle Howard. Police, paramedics and fire crews from Huntington and Malton attended.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “No casualties were trapped in the vehicles however several casualties were walking wounded.

“The crews then used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish a fire from one of the vehicles. They then assisted police and ambulance with scene safety.”
The A64 was closed both ways for more than an hour, leading to long tailbacks. One lane in each direction was reopened by 10pm, and the whole road was reopened by 3.30am.
One witness said on Twitter the accident “looked really bad – hope everyone OK”.
