A man who took to a York rooftop has been talked down safely by police negotiators.
Officers were called just before 8am to reports of a man on the roof of a property in The Werkdyke, off Aldwark, York.
The street was cordoned off at Peasholme Green and Aldwark.
Police were joined at the scene by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance crews as they work to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The man on the roof in The Werdyke, York, is now off the roof.
“Police negotiators talked the man safely down from the roof at around 2.30pm today. He is now in police custody.”
