Two schools have been hit by strike action again today, as teachers walk out over a dispute with the academy that runs them.
Members of the National Education Union have downed tools at All Saints RC Secondary and St George’s Primary schools.
St George’s is closed to all pupils, while All Saints is only open to Year 11 and 12 students, who will be taking exams.
The dispute is over the financial management at Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust, which runs both schools.
The trust says it has a restructured board and a new chair, but the two sides have failed to reach an agreement.
Strike action will take place again tomorrow.
If the dispute isn’t settled, more strikes are earmarked at
- St George’s School – Thursday, 3 July and Wednesday, 9 July
- All Saints School – Monday to Wednesday 7-9 July.
