Two York City Knights players have been included in the England squad for Friday’s inaugural women’s international against Wales at Warrington.
Grace Field and Kelsey Gentles are among the 19-strong squad announced today by England head coach Craig Richards.
Richards said: “It’s been a tough process to pick the squad as I have been impressed with several players both in training and with their performances in the Women’s Super League.

“This is a great opportunity for all of my players to put their best foot forward and show me they want to be in that squad ahead of the Rugby League World Cup later this year.”
It will be Wales’ first Test match after playing two internationals in 2019 – against Great Britain teachers and England Lions – and head coach Thomas Brindle says it will be an important milestone.
Knights offered their “huge congratulations” to the pair.
