Two women were assaulted in Coney Street in York at the weekend.
It happened outside Waterstones between 9.15pm and 9.30pm on Friday (2 December).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Two women, aged in their 30s were assaulted.
“A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault and resisting arrest.
“A second 15-year-old girl was also arrested on suspicion of assault, resisting arrest and a public order offence.
“Both girls were interviewed and released under investigation.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
