Two teenagers have been arrested and taken to hospital after an incident which saw part of Scarborough town centre sealed off today (Tuesday).
Shortly before midday, North Yorkshire Police cordoned off the Brunswick Shopping Centre.
It followed reports that two people were on the roof.
As well as the cordon, surrounding roads were closed for some time to allow emergency services to respond.
A police negotiator was also called in.
“We’re pleased to say the incident has now been brought to a safe conclusion. Cordons have been lifted and roads will be reopening soon,” a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said at 4.21pm.
“Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been taken to hospital for treatment.
“Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with the incident.”
