A road is closed on the North York Moors after a crash which left two people seriously hurt today (Thursday).
The A169 is currently shut at Goathland following a two-vehicle collision, which happened at about 12.30pm.
It involved a brown Ford C-Max travelling towards Whitby and a white Citroen van travelling towards Pickering.
The two occupants of the Ford were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the van was uninjured.
As of 4.30pm, traffic is being diverted through Goathland village. Police say the A169 itself is likely to remain closed for some time.
Traffic officers would like to speak to any witnesses to the collision.
