Two people seriously hurt in three-car crash near York

Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries in a crash near York.

It happened on the A1079 near Wilberfoss at around 6pm on Wednesday (1 March).

A white Citroen, a silver Mercedes and a silver Volkswagen Golf were in collision west of the village.

The drivers of the Citroen and Mercedes were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The road was closed for some time after the incident.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
