Summer must be coming – as two York outdoor bars have announced their opening dates.
The pop-up Thor’s Tipi bars will be coming back later this month.
First to open is the Thor’s Solast in Principal Hotel Gardens, from 22 May through to 25 August.
It is followed by the Thor’s Orangery on Parliament Street, opening on 24 May and running until 18 August.
Director at Thor’s Amanda Monaghan said: “Fabulous events, beautiful pop-up venues and throwing the best parties is what we do, and I love being able to bring the Thor’s magic to my home city.
“We’re now in our sixth year in the Principal Hotel Gardens, and our Parliament Street pop-up is in its fourth year! We can’t thank York enough for welcoming us again and we can’t wait for you to join us for our glorious summer in the city.”
This year resident mixologist Boz McFadden has put together a menu of ‘Choose Love’ themed cocktails including ‘Thor’s on the Beach’ and the exotic ‘Thor’s Tiki’. The slushies are back, and Thor’s will serve cold beers brewed locally by Ainsty Ales.
There will be food from Frango Eduardo, serving up their Portuguese delights at the Principal Hotel Gardens.
In Parliament Street you can choose from Yuzu Street Food, Miller’s Fish and Chips and Yorkshire Roast Co.
For live music lovers, there’ll be performances from the best local artists and bands on Parliament Street every Thursday and Sunday throughout the summer.
Every Friday from 12 noon till 4pm, kids drinks and ice cream are free at the Principal Hotel Gardens.
The opening night bash at Thor’s on Parliament Street will feature live music from Flatcap Carnival and 20% off all drinks.
