Two independent North Yorkshire country pubs are celebrating awards this week.
The Inn at South Stainley and The Drovers Arms at Skipwith have scooped OpenTable’s ‘Diners Choice Award’ for the second year running.
This summer The Drovers Arms was also awarded OpenTable’s Top 100 restaurants for outside dining in the UK.
The Inn South Stainley and The Drovers Arms are owned by Yorkshire operators Graham Usher and partner Matthew Rose.
They purchased the inn with rooms in 2021 and the Drovers more than ten years ago.
The Drovers Arms received a transforming £150,000 refurbishment in January 2024, giving it contemporary and stylish interiors.

Located on the A61, The Inn South Stainley is a prime spot for travellers. The Drovers Arms is set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York.
Managing director Graham Usher said, “We are thrilled to have received these awards this year, to see that our customers have recognised the hard work all the team put in to create a memorable and special experience really makes it all worthwhile.
“Over the years through our consistent approach to food, service delivery and creating a stylish and contemporary atmosphere in our establishment securing accreditation like these is a great reward to the hard work our team put in.”
