Two men charged with murder in York
Two men have been charged with murder in York today (Friday).
It follows the death of a 35-year-old Francis David McNally, whose body was discovered at a flat on Markham Crescent on Wednesday (27 October).
Curtis Turpin, 34, of Markham Crescent, and Adam Hudson, 39, of Rowntree Avenue, York, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court this morning.
They were charged with the murder of Mr McNally and were remanded in custody. Turpin and Hudson will appear at Leeds Crown Court on 2 November.
A third man arrested in relation to the death has been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.
There have been two bodies discovered on Markham Crescent in just over a week.
YorkMix revealed yesterday that they were both found in the same flat.
The first was discovered on Tuesday, 19 October. Police were called in by paramedics, and two men, aged 34 and 40, were arrested.
Three men were arrested after the discovery of the body of Mr McNally two days ago. Police did not release the ages of these men.
Residents of Markham Crescent, a quiet cul-de-sac in the Groves, say they no longer feel safe on their own street.
North Yorkshire Police say they are stepping up patrols by their Neighbourhood Policing Team in the area.
