Two crashes in York – One man cut free by firefighters

Two crashes have partially blocked roads in different areas of York this afternoon (Tuesday).

One is in Strensall, the other in Acomb.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision at The Village, Strensall at 4.21pm.

According to North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, one man was trapped. Firefighters released him “using specialist tools”.

The incident partially blocked The Village near the Ship Inn, and is causing slow traffic.

And a crash has partially blocked Gale Lane in Acomb. It is near to the junction with St Stephen’s Road.

It was reported shortly after 5pm. We have no details about any casualties as yet.
